Pottery Carved Lacquerware Tea Set Design Research

In this paper, the design of tea sets with pottery body and carved red lacquer is the research object, involving the lacquer, pottery, and modern design methods of tea sets and so on.Under the premise of reserving the connotation of traditional lacquer culture, this passage analysizes special characteristics of carved lacquer, discusses the superiority that pottery is used as the body of carved lacquer as well as being in the market demand and design of tea sets th-rough the study for the integration of lacquer and pottery in historical development, and further presents the innovative aspects of this research. The paper attempts to design tea sets with pottery body and carved red lacquer by the innovation on modelling, colors, pattern and decorative techniques, and enriches decorative description of tea sets so as to create tea sets with pottery body and carved red lacquer that can be used and appreciated by modern people. Therefore, it is not only innovative but of cultural and economic value.The research is derived from the problems existing in the historical development of carved lacquer and aims to put design into practice with these aspects varying from the positioning of users and product functions as well as the use environment, to the design theme, materials, crafting, and visual appearance etc. Furthermore, it also provides theoretical basis for the integration of carved lacquer and pottery and research methods for the application that traditional crafting has into modern product design.
