Unremitting pursuit of identity is the persistent fearless fate of human like Oedipus and is decisively hard return like Odysseus. As master of modernity Bowman says,Have an identity seems to be one of the most common human needs. Milan Kundera's "Trilogy of Oblivion"——Slowness?Identity?Ignorance reveals that the rapid development of high-tech lead to the Oblivion as the norm of life becomes a symptom of the times in modern society. The "acceleration" of oblivion leads to the loss of self, which leads to the crisis of self-identity. Self-identity of centering on the rationalityleads to the other dimensions of forgetfulness, which make the self identity fall into two extremes-or completely immerse into the mass and loss oneself, or completely renounce the world and others to return to oneself. This paper is divided into three parts to prove the selected topics:The introduction part explains Milan Kundera andall his works, analyzes the current research about Trilogy of Oblivion——from home to abroad,Explain the origin of the study and defines the identity and identity crisis. The second part is the main body, including three chapters to demonstrate. The first chapter proclaims the phenomenon of individual identity crisis because of oblivion, from three aspects to demonstrate, The loss of certainty leads to the loss of self, the break of continuity causedthe nothingness of the main body and the loss of uniqueness leads to the elimination of individuality. The second chapter mainly present the characters of the trilogy resistance to Oblivion, or resort to memory confirm the stability of self, or maintain self continuity by regression, or with the help of betrayal to defend the unique nature of the self, but in the end it is paradoxical outcome of Sisyphus type of continuous efforts and continue to fail. The third chapter would investigate the impossibility of the identity behind the oblivion, from the contradiction between the self and the other and the collision between universality and difference. Specifically, self-centered identity result in forgotten to others, universality overshadows difference, centrality exclude margin, Irreconcilable contradiction caused by the definiteness of identity and mobility of modern leads to the impossibility of identity. The third part is the conclusion. It hasan outlook for the possibility of identity using Levinas ethics, which indicates that only face and responsible for others can find the self-identity.
