For these readers, the experiences from the novelsare very different and attractive, the life motif like exile and betrayal from thecharacters turn into some kind of fashion that the people are chasing for,“life iselsewhere” has become a slogan. At the same time, Marguerite Duras, HarukiMurakami and Milan Kundera become the spokesmen for the petty bourgeois andwhite-collar classes who have well economic base, the three of them are also symbolsof the general public of elegance and taste.
