In this paper, forcing on Shanghai during the years between 1950s and 1970s, contemporary prose is studied for its imagination and narration of the socialism city. According to the liberation stories of new and old situations, two kinds of Shanghai was prominent as internal logic and given a symbolic meaning of "Shanghai-regime-China". With the liberation healing in depth, the revolution meaning of people was written into the book of city, which could be regarded as the comma of new and old history of Shanghai, and material consumption with long history in this city ended with the end of colonization. In the center of nation, manufacture with relationship between revolution and modernization, awakening of the working class consciousness, collectivism and liberation of women, became the industry landscape and footnote of communism Shanghai. The workers' village of Shanghai, in contemporary prose, responded the reform of revolution culture with its space order, which changed the cultural character of people in the village. Shanghai was divided into two parts, nation was developing, and local part got week. Later, with the shortage of revolution meanings in daily life, the storm of revolution came into Shanghai again, which showed the paradox of revolution.
