Wen Yi Yue Kan was a literature journal supported by the Kuomingtang in the 1930s'.As a KMT's journal, the original motivation was to compete with the booming Left-wing Literary Movement.Although the purpose was inclined to the obvious political intentions, the main editors, such as Wang Pingling,Zuo Gong,Miu Chongqun,Xu Zhongnian, insisted on the independent position of literature, which made great contributions to the healthy development of literature.Just as other literature journals since the May 4th movement, Wen Yi Yue Kan published a large amount of foreign literary works as much as the domestic original works. However, Wen Yi Yue Kan was inclined to translating the works from Britain,Ameira,France and Germany, especially the modernity they reflected. The choice of these translating inclinations has a obvious compensation effect, which can be methods to reform the backward society.Besides, Wen Yi Yue Kan also paid attention to the small and weak nations, which connected with the time and the literature to promote the understanding of their translation. These can be a powerful imagination, indirectly shows the appeal to nationalism discourse.Wen Yi Yue Kan was different from other journals in the camp of the KMT.Wen Yi Yue Kan didn't have any consciousness of class antagonism or heated words, instead,it explored a new and unique way to keep the literary style.Of course, Wen Yi Yue Kan was also different from other business journals or the Left-wing journals,it always pointed to the value of literature,so that we can see its literary position and the underlying inclination.
