The Translation Strategies Of Metaphor For IT English

Metaphor,as a significant way to know the world,is one of the crucial thinking modes of human beings.Over the years,traditional metaphor studies are mostly concentrated in literature field.However,in recent years,with the rapid development of IT technology,the life style of human beings have completely changed,more and more scholars begin to study the metaphor phenomenon in IT technology.From my point of view,metaphor is not only a linguistic phenomenon but also the fundamental way for human beings to know the world.At the same time,the metaphor in IT technology also has various characteristics that many traditional literary works do not have,which is well worth exploring.The paper firstly introduces the concept of the metaphor,secondly analyzes several characteristics of the metaphor in IT technology,including conceptualization,systematization,and persistence,finally,summarizes many translation strategies,such as explicitness of source domain,explicitness of target domain and thick translation.
