Relationship Among Psychological Maltreatment,Coping Styles And Aggression Behaviors Of Middle School Students

The study was conducted on the basis of the concept,measurement methods and research status of childhood psychological maltreatment,coping styles and aggressive behaviors.During the study,700 middle school students were interviewed and Deng Yunlong's Psychological Maltreatment and Neglect Scale,Xiao Jihua's Coping Styles Questionnaire and Buss' Aggression Questionnaire were adopted as the survey tool.The relationship among middle school students' childhood psychological maltreatment,coping styles and aggressive behaviors was been analyzed.The study findings are summarized as follows:I.Boys tended to suffer more psychological maltreatment and neglect in childhood than girls.In facing frustration,girls tended to adopt the way of seeking help to solve the problem,and the boys were more inclined to adopt a reasonable way to solve the problem;Differences existed among different grades in showing the different ways in coping with the difficulties.More boys tended to adopt physical aggression and verbal aggression in terms of attack,and girls used more angry ways to express their dissatisfaction;different grades showed differences in physical aggression,indirect aggression and verbal attacks.II.The results of correlation analysis showed that there was significant correlation between variables.A childhood experienced psychological maltreatment and neglect,when facing problems,will take more coping styles of self blame,fantasy,avoidance,rationalization,is unlikely to be positive to solve a problem or seek help.The deeper the degree of psychological maltreatment in childhood,when growing up,the more aggressive behavior was likely to be led to.The middle school students with aggressive behavior mostly used negative ways to solve the problem,and the positive coping styles can reduce the incidence of aggression?III.Regression analysis results showed that the psychological maltreatment and neglect,coping styles like self blame and fantasy had a positive predictive effect on middle school students' attacks.It showed that the middle school students who had suffered from psychological maltreatment and neglect in childhood and the students tending to adopt the coping styles of self blame and fantasy were more inclined to solve the problem in the way of attack.IV.Psychological maltreatment and neglect in Childhood will directly affect theindividual's aggressive behavior,and it will influence the middle school students' aggressive behavior through the immature coping styles.
