A Study On The Experiential Form Of Environmental Drama

In 1960s,the famous American drama theorist Schechner proposed "environmental drama" theory,presents a form of dramatic art which can be directly involved in.The audience can be initiative and actively involved in the story.In July 2015,a drama of Jewish refugees<Suzhou Hebei>officially opened.I had the honor to be a member of the production group,and take the opportunity to have a new understanding of environmental theatre.In fact,the fundamental reason why this environmental drama has attracted so many people is that people are willing to pay more attention to the experience culture in real life.In this trend,people meet the emotional needs mainly through the consumption culture.For now to experience the cultural environment,how can Chinese environment drama adapt and extend the drama forms,which will discussed in the paper.Therefore,this paper will take "Suzhou Hebei" as an example,combined with the contemporary social experience and the consumption culture,explore the experience form two aspects:space and performance.
