Yueling refers to a series of literature including YueLing in The Book of Rites.These literature formulated the emperor's government affairs monthly or seasonal in the framework of Yin-Yang and Five Elements theory.Although there was difference in detail,but all of them obeyed the governing principal of Yin-Yang-Xing-De theory.We can regard Yueling as a formulation of the Yin-Yang School for the Grand Unification Empire,which would be soon arose in the the middle and later stage of the Warring States.This formulation influenced the amnesty and award of the Western Han Dynasty.In another word,the seasonal distribution of government kindness conformed very well to Yueling's principal;while the punishment and the war as well as the military training of the Western Han Dynasty,which was government's majesty,were not influenced by Yueling.The selectivity of Yueling's influence partly because the nature of these government affairs,partly because the dominate strategy of emperors of the Western Han Dynasty,which both use benevolent government and despotism.
