"Emperor mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty" was a series documentary combined clay sculpture animation, mural animation, map animation, 3D animation with real shooting. By using the annalistic style, each episode was narrate from an emperor's mausoleum to restore the 11 Western Han Dynasty emperor's governance concept and its little-known legend, based on this background, it described the political, economic and cultural status during every emperor's governance, showing the 210 years prosperity and decline in the Western Han Dynasty.In this report, the interpreter chose the first two episodes "Emperor Gao Zu Chang Ling" and "Emperor Hui · An Ling" in "Emperor mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty", a large chronology animation documentary broadcast by the China Central Television as the material to do the interpretation practice, and utilize the specific examples to solve the difficulties met when interpreting, and thus to explore the strategies used in documentary consecutive interpreting. The documentary involved large amounts of Chinese history and culture knowledge, so the interpreter needs to consider many factors during interpreting, and has to look up a wide range of materials to ensure the veracity of the interpreting. This report will elaborate and systematically expound specific interpreting skills for such kind of documentary, hoping to provide interpreting experiences for the similar documentary.The report consists of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. The main contents are as follows:The first part is introduction. It mainly introduces the content of "Emperor mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty", and then introduce the actual value and significance of the documentary.The second part is the main body, which including three parts:The first chapter is task description. In this chapter, it first introduce the background of the "Emperor mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty" and then introduce the content of the first two episodes of the documentary "Emperor Gao Zu · Chang Ling" and"Emperor Hui · An Ling", and finally referral the interpreting skills and basic requirements needed in consecutive interpreting as an interpreter.The second chapter mainly discusses the process description, which first analyzes the preparation stage including vocabulary, tools and strategies used. Then it introduce the interpreting process, and finally analysis the quality control in the interpreting.The third chapter mainly discusses the case analysis. First it analysis the difficulties met in interpreting process, and then analysis the application of interpreting strategies of amplification, conversion, combination and inversion through analysis the specific examples.The last part is conclusion, mainly summarizes the thesis, and hoping to offer the interpreting experiences for such kind of documentary through analysis the strategies used in interpreting "Emperor mausoleum of the Western Han Dynasty".
