Study On The Vivid Forms Of Adjectives In Liaozhailiquji

Liaozhailiquji a popular rap works which was written by Pu Songling in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.Written in the Shandong dialect of Zichuan,the book has strong local flavor and local characteristics of Shandong.It reflects the language features of the northern dialect at that time basically and has high value in the history of Chinese.Liaozhailiquji is the research object of this thesis.We have studied the classifications,the syntactic function and the rhetorical function of the vivid form of adjectives.We attempt to reveal the general characteristics of the vivid form of adjectives in Liaozhailiquji and then explore the development of the vivid form of adjectives in this period.This thesis consists of five parts.The first chapter is the introduction.It mainly discusses the origin and significances of the topics,the current research of Liaozhailiquji,the definition of the vivid forms of adjectives,the version and other instructions.The second chapter of this thesis mainly introduces the vivid forms of adjectives'classifications and characteristics of each category in Liaozhailiquji.With the methods of analysis and deduction,we classified the vivid forms of adjectives into three categories.They are the reduplicated vivid form of adjectives,the partially reduplicated vivid form of adjectives and the non-reduplicated vivid form of adjectives.The reduplicated vivid form of adjectives contains AA-type;AABB-type and ABAB type.The partially reduplicated vivid form of adjectives contains ABB-type,AAB-type,ABCC-type,CCAB-type,ABAC-type and AXA-type.The non-reduplicated vivid form of adjectives contains ABC(BCA)-type and AXYZ-type.The third chapter relates and analyzes the syntactic function of the vivid form of adjectives.Based on objective analysis of materials which we have statistical and collected,the paper lists the syntactic functions of the adjectives in vivid forms,and analyzes the characteristics of each kind of syntactic function.On the whole,the vivid forms of adjectives can mainly act as adverbial,predicate,attributive and complement,and at the same time can act as subject,object and independent.The fourth chapter analyzes the rhetorical function of the vivid form of adjectives in Liaozhailiquji.Its rhetorical functions mainly include four aspects:vivid description,to strengthen the clarity of expression;implicate sentiment,to enhance the emotional color;rhythm harmony,to add the rhythm of the sentences and describe modality,to intensify the indistinct of boundaries.The conclusion of this paper is the further summary for the front parts of the content.It described the main features of the vivid form of adjectives in Shandong dialect of Ming and Qing Dynasties.It pointed out the existing problems and the direction of future efforts.In order to clearly reveal the importance of Liaozhailiquji during the transition from modern Chinese to modern Chinese mature stage.
