Jingzhao Du Clan originated in the Western Han Dynasty from Du Zhou, who started with law and got a great position in the political world,as a result,he laid a family foundation. His son Du Yannian entered into the official career with law too,and kept a high political position,at the same time,Jingzhao Du Clan moved to Du Ling when he was respected by the emperor Han Zhao Di and Han Xuan Di,because of which it had been one of the powerful families.During the Eastern Han Dynasty,Jingzhao Du Clan was gradually declining in the political field, but the descendants of the family continued and Du Du was famous as a literary, since then, the tradition of Jingzhao Du Clan began to fuse with Confucianism. In the Cao Wei and Western Jin Dynasty,Jingzhao Du Clan reached peak in the efforts of Du Ji,Du Shu and Du Yu.Because of the Yongjia Turmoil,Jingzhao Du Clan scattered all over the country, and its descendants depended on different authorities respectively according to their situations:the families who came across the Yangtze River almost had disappearred in history, such as DuYi.But Du Lingqi relied on military exploits, which helped him keep his political position and his family developed into Xiangyang Du Clan by the Tang Dynasty. The families who stayed in the North, including Du Dan,Du Yin and Du Zhe,preserved their strength and became the main components during the Tang Dynasty. In the process of continuous disintegration of the family,Jingzhao Du Clan had always maintained a good family centripetal force. In the Sui and Tang dynasties,it had a great influence in politics as a clan.Furthermore,Jingzhao Du Clan always was a staunch defender of the central regime, and had the same destiny with the Tang Dynasty, finally fell with it together.Jingzhao Du Clan had developed up-and-down over a thousand years, which has many reasons behind it.Based on the Jingzhao Du Clan's development trajectory, this paperinvestigates the reason of the final decay. It is not difficult to discover that the Han Dynasty was the forming period of it.In the Eastern Han Dynasty,Jingzhao Du Clangradually formed the cultural superiority, even though the political status was declining,it was still in the ascendant stage. In this period, social and political forces could only affect the development of clan, but would not affect its development trend.Clans are partners with central regime and this phenomenon is more evident in the period of Wei and Jin dynasties. The members of clans are not only the national intelligence, but also the key to maintaining the stability and legitimacy of the regime, this is the reason why Jingzhao Du Clan reached peak at this time. The impact of Yongjia Turmoil on clans is not only the stripping of family, more importantly,it had made clans close towords politics and government,Jingzhao Du Clan is a typical example. After the establishment of the Grand Unification Empire, the centralization and autocratic imperial power were strengthened again, and clan became an obstacle to the strengthening of the monarchy, which was rejected by the rulers, because of the historic and cultural traditions and even the social fame of the royal family. In this complex historical evolution process, the nature of clan had also changed--from the original ruling class to become a subsidiary of the ruling class, slowly lost the original role, also lost in the political initiative. The main manifestation of Jingzhao Du Clan's Society in Tang Dynasty is to attach to the imperial power. As far as Jingzhao Du Clan is concerned,it is different from other clan because of family migration to lose the village Foundation, thus losing the advantage of being able to be self-sustaining,the main reason for the decline is the change of the nature of class itself, while losing the cultural and social superiority, and the binding of the Tang Dynasty politics, even after the Five Dynasties and Song Dynasty.
