| Lu Xun is the founder of Chinese modern novels.He shapes lots of characters which are distinctive and lifelike.At the same time,Lu Xun also focuses on the description of the typical environment and truly reflects the background of people’s life.This paper takes the appearance description and the environment description as an example to study the non-action narration in Lu Xun ’s novels and explore the value and significance of non-action narration in Lu Xun’ s works."Non-action narrative" is a kind of narrative which is about the elements of static narratives except characterization and words.The interpretation of the concepts,characteristic and function of "non-action narration" are firstly discussed in the introduction of this paper,then,the research status of non-action narration in Lu Xun’s novels is described in detail,in the meantime,the intention and meaning of this thesis topic are pointed out.Chapter one selects three kinds of representative people namely: the bottom of the people,the Awakened one and the powerful.From the appearance description of characters in the text,it analyses the function with appearance narration of characters,interprets how Lu Xun describes the character’s appearance to grope for the human soul,and reveals narrative power of the human trauma and the morbid souls.Chapter two mainly discusses the the natural environment,living environment and social environment in Lu Xun’s novels.From the view of the relationship between environment,situation of the story and the action of characters,it can probe into different narration meanings which are included in diverse environment and analyze how Lu Xun constructs a typical environment under feudal ideology and feudal ethical domination any further.Chapter three puts Lu Xun’s works on the basis of comparing Chinese classical novels with western realistic novels.This paper analyzes the typical,simple and symbolic features presented in Lu Xun ’s novels’ "painting eyes",dynamic description and comic-style performance and environmental narratives,so as to highlight the modernity and uniqueness of Lu Xun’s novels. |
