Diachronic Investigation Of The Fit Modal Adverbs

Modal adverbs is a small class with a lot of number and complex usage in Chinese adverbs.According to the further study in recent years,the fit modal adverbs are attentioned by the researchers.But most of the scholars have researched from the aspect of synchronic study with lacking of the diachronic study.This paper will combine them to explore the evolution of the fit modal adverbs and try to explain the mechanism of the evolution.The first chapter is the part of introduction.We will mainly introduce the related research of the modal adverbs and the eleven fit modal adverbs.At the same time,we will also introduce the scope,focus,significance,methods and corpus sources of the fit modal adverbs in this paper.The second chapter is the theme part.We will comprehensive study the origin and evolution of eleven fit modal adverbs in every periods.The third chapter will summarize the motivation and mechanism of the fit modal adverbs' evolution.We think it mainly affected by changes of the semantic and syntactic position,the double syllable trend and cognitive.The fourth chapter is the part of the conclusion.It will summarize the discussion of this paper and point out the problems which we need to further research in the future.We think that the eleven fit modal adverbs are produced between the pre-Qin period and Qing period,and most of them are derived from verbs or adjectives,some of them maybe will disappear in the future.
