| "Where there is water,there are deities,always worship the deities whenever start construction",that is the core concept of the "All water is scared" construction design philosophy.The primitive ancestors of Tibet believe in “animism ",especially for the water.Tibetans believe that the rich resources of Tibet are all from the Ocean: the water of plateau is like "manna",which can clean the dust,ward off diseases,avoid calamities,and reduce guilt.The water gods,dragon gods and "Lu" gods are living in the ground and water,who are in charge of people's lives,production and those life closely related elements like reproduction,wealth,health and happiness.In order to have an auspicious life and a blissful afterlife,people must piously make offerings to the goddess of water.What the "All water is scared" philosophy truly want to express is the Tibetan people has positive yearning for good life and has strong expectations for successful and satisfactory life.The "All water is scared" philosophy's results of creation are divided into six categories: 1,Water tank pavilion,water tank and other water tools like water scoop;2,Tea ware,wine container and other drinkware like soup pot;4,All kinds of treasures from the ocean;5,Hydropower utilized water mill and hydraulic power prayer wheel;6,"wind horse" flag," The use of water elements " on the prayer flags.In the process of creation,designers has integrated the rigorous order and abundant layers into the material,styling,decoration and technology,and then the Tibetan people has the custom ceremony when they using those items.This behavior makes those objects out of the physical level of function realization.Those items,basically are used for providing visual and emotional pleasure,but they also has been placed on deep and solemnspiritual beliefs and always has maintained the inner connection between themselves and the gods.This view of creation from the original ecominorities has brought many positive effects to the ecology and nomadic life of the plateau.It also has encouraged us to excavate the national essence of the country to provide inspiration and illumination for the increasingly utilitarian and normalized modern design.The overall artistic characteristics of the Tibetan's "All water is scared" philosophy's result of creation are show as hierarchy,solemnity,order and exquisite work,it glows dazzling light of the national beauty of divinity.This aesthetic feature is carefully pursued by the craftsmen when they are unremitting exploring the spiritual world and earnest instructed by the wise.The Design behavior has gone through from the spirit to the material,and then back to the spirit of the cycle,to achieve the materialization of spiritual beliefs.It aimed at pursuing the inner balance and harmony between water-related design‘s physical property,human nature and the divinity.The illumination that "All water is scared" philosophy bought to modern design is related to three questions: Created for who? The nation who has ideal and faith;Why create? For the belonging of soul,the abiding of spirit;How to create? Feel from heart,shape by hand,pursue the divinity through its shape,inheriting the spirit of craftsmen,pursue the divine beauty which has full of inner cohesion and vitality,create designs with more beautiful shape,better function,and abundance spiritual beliefs. |
