This study discusses how college students can use Kunqu opera as a cultural capital to construct their own identity.The author take in-depth survey in theater and campus for six months,using the methods of combination of in-depth interviews and participate in observation to observe the students who loving Kunqu opera construct-ing the "elegance" of it,analysising of the meaning of the "elegance" to the group’s daily life.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduction,introduce the origin of this topic,the field,the theoretical background,the study significance and the fieldwork.The second chapter Kunqu opera and elegance,discuss the history of the elegant culture,the pushing in the cultural circles,the "elegance" in the stage,the "elegance" in the eyes of fans.The third chapter field domain and distinction,focuses on the relationship between the field domain namely Kun Zhan Tang and Micro-letters group and the distinction of college students.The fourth chapter ritual sense and identity,from the perspective of anthropology to study the role of rituals on the construction of identity and tells the story of three insects with the Kunqu opera.The fifth chapter is a brief conclusion.As an epilogue,this study shows that,college students and other young people for the opera market,for the opera and its social phenomenon in terms of research,are can not be ignored groups.On the one hand,it demonstrates the love of Kunqu opera has driven the positioning of some people’s personal interests and the construction of their own identity.On the other hand,in the moment of globalization,tradition is far from disappearing,it still has a strong vitality,although it is chosen by the current tradition.In the university,this traditional vitality continues through the students’ love of traditional opera.These students are endowed with an intercultural psychology.In conclusion,this article hopes to combine the "elegance" of Kunqu opera with the daily life of college students to show how they reshape their daily life by const-ructing and strengthening the "elegance" of Kunqu opera,and how their spiritual and cultural consumption fit with the pursuiting of elegant taste,and how they consciously maintain the boundary by linking the two and construct their own cultural identity.
