In translation practice,the translators are often faced with the issue of back translation.Compared with general translations,back translation involves different cultural backgrounds between the two languages.Therefore,it has a high demand on the cultural accumulation of the translators,and thus is a difficult issue translation.The text of Translating and Interpreting Chinese Philosophy involves not only traditional Chinese culture,but also the names of many Sinologists and related Sinology works.Therefore,the author chooses the first chapter of the text as the translation material,and explores the issues that should be paid attention to when using back translation strategy in the commentary.Among the researches on back translation,it is a very important theory to consider back translation as a kind of translation strategy.But it is necessary to pay attention to some issues when using back translation strategy.This thesis first defines the theory of back translation as a translation strategy.Then,it divides back translation into three categories:proper nouns,cited literature and cultural concept words,and selects corresponding examples to analyze the translation strategy.Finally,it comes to the conclusion that when translating proper nouns,the translator needs to carry out keyword search to ensure the accuracy of the translation;when translating cited literature,the translator had better analyze the different understandings of different Sinologists and translate them in different styles;when translating cultural concept words,the translator should find corresponding source language in Chinese,and check the idiomatic usage of Chinese expression.
