Translation Practice Report On Prelude And Chapter 1,2 Of The Core Of Marx Thought:Preparing For Social Theory In Thetwenty-first Century

The report takes the preface,the first and second chapter of The core of Marx Thought:preparing for social theory in the twenty-first Century(hereinafter referred to as The core of Marx Thought)as the translation object,discussing translation skills of social science works.The core of Marx's thought of Professor Suzuki Nao was published in 2016,and summarized the political,economic,social and other issues in the capitalist society in the past 50 years.Professor Suzuki is attempting mining information contained in books and finding out the part which reflects it is time-advanced,core of Marx Thought in order to put forward suggestions for the problems and Countermeasures of social theory in twenty-first Century.The type of this work is social science,ranging philosophy,economics,politics and other subjects and knowledge in other fields.There are many professional terms in social Science works and it is very logical with the times and class.Suziki's "the core of Marx's thought" is not only a serious side of social science works,but also the characteristics of literary works,which has graceful expression.I determined to translate it as it is be before my translate begins.Yan Fu has put forward the theory of"faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance",which is similar to the translator's understanding of translation,and it can also meet the expectations of the translation of the core of the thought of Marx.T herefore,this paper selects Yan Fu's "faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance" as the guiding theory of translation.After my decision in translation object and theory,this report will be written from two aspects:vocabulary and long sentence.This report lists the difficulties encountered in the process of translation,and introduces in detail how to make the appropriate countermeasures under the guidance of "faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance".The first chapter of the report introduces the preparations made before writing the report.The second chapter introduces the translation methods of words from proper nouns and Chinese Japanese homograph.As the result of practice,I summarizes three kinds of methods:using the words if the words in Chinese are conventional with proper nouns are a common vocabulary in Chinese,then use this common vocabulary;there are several versions of the Chinese next,using words with higher frequency;Chinese has no corresponding argument,the translator carefully pick up appropriate translation.The third chapter introduces the translation methods of frequently occurring long sentences in Japanese works.Long sentence is one of the notable features of Japanese works,and is frequently used in social science works.In the methods of translating long sentences,there are many techniques like additional translation,omission,negation,variation,backward translation,division and jointly translation,and it is quite common to use some of those techniques in the same time to translate a long sentence.Based on the theory guiding and my practice experience,I picked two sentences in The core of Marx Thought,selective analyzing four techniques in translating long sentences including division translation,words order,jointly translation and emotional in words.Through the practice in translation,I have a deeper understanding in translating social science works.In the mean time,I aware the accumulation in translating,the ability in using mother tongue and wide knowledge are indispensable factors in translation.There is still a long way to go to become a qualified translator,we must have a more profound study of translation theory,and accumulate experience in translation.
