As a public writing style in court,the imperial edict has a long history in China.After thousands of years of development and evolution,the system of imperial edict presents different characteristics and styles in different historical periods.the imperial edict of the Southern Dynasty as the object of this study is an important part of the history of imperial edict.In the thousands of years of writing style development history in China,there are four dynasties occupying special position,such as the Southern Song,Qi,Liang,Chen,etc..This particularity mainly reflects in that many writing styles in the history of China completed the antithetic process and the wording style variation occurred in this period.And therefore the standardized parallel prose was produced.The imperial edict also completed its own antithetic process in this historical period and became a member of the parallel prose family.The imperial edict became a kind of mature parallel prose in the Southern Dynasty,and since then,the imperial edicts of all the dynasties have continued to employ this parallel prose style of the Southern Dynasty.The parallel prose system was established as the imperial edict style of the Southern Dynasty,which had far-reaching influences on the later imperial edicts.The imperial edict style of the Southern Dynasty is discussed in this dissertation as the following four parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the retention of the imperial edict in the Southern Dynasty and the research status of the imperial edict in the Southern Dynasty.The research significance and methods of this dissertation are illustrated as well.The second part is the first chapter of this dissertation,which mainly discusses the origin of the imperial edict style,including the name and system evolution of the imperial edict.The third part is the main body of this dissertation,including the second,third,fourth and fifth chapters,which discusses the development and evolution of the imperial edicts of the Southern Dynasty from Song,Qi,Liang and Chen Dynasty according to the order of the times.The following aspects are narrated,such as author,content,category,system,style,etc..The fourth part is the sixth chapter of this dissertation,which discusses the historical status and influence of the imperial edict style of the Southern Dynasty.The positive and negative impacts of the imperial edict style of the Southern Dynasty on the later composition of imperial edict.
