Research On The Citation Of Tang Dynasty's Prose In Zizhi Tongjian

Sima Guang's chronicle work Zizhi Tongjian has always attracted a wide spread attention from scholars, there are even appeared "the subject of Tongjian", But because of Tongjian's History restrictions, leading scholars pay too much attention to its historical value, and literary study of the Tongjian is not enough. Current research on literature of Tongjian on the unpopular side, similar viewpoints, research areas are centralized, on the other hand also has research value to be realized. The paper selected "Tangji", on the basis of literature review and analysis of the historical data to learn Tongjian quote Tangwen, to research Tongjian citation cit's characteristics of the content, style, rhetoric and narrative, to explore Sima Tongjian's selection methods and tendencies.This paper is divided into four parts, the first chapter is the overview of citation, first made it clear that the definition of citations, then made simple instructions of author's method, citation's author, citation's period, citation's style and the handle of citations. The second chapter research citation's style, rhetoric and narrative, the citations mainly include official document and imperial edict, emphasize rhetoric, language and sentence on form, having literature color, emotional color and argument color in the narrative. The third chapter studies the content of citations, which include everying, such as etiquette, tamemasa, border defense, culture and economy. The fourth chapter discusses Tongjian's methods and tendencies of quoting Tangwen. Through comparison of the Tong Jian with the citation of the original, we can find that Sima guang's selected methods include excerpt, omissions, xerox, and rewrite, combined, increase and so on. Sometimes used one method, sometimes used a variety of methods. By researching the style, content, form and narrative, we can see that Sima guang writes the true history, the events are all affairs of state, learning from Tang dynasty, Meanwhile, we can also see that the acceptance of Tang Dynasty Prose.
