Rhetoric Reflections On Contextual Relevance And Violation On Saving The Breast

Contextual relevance and violation are a pair of dialectical relationship existing in the nexus of language application and context. Contextual violation is a phenomenon produced by contextual effect which deviated from the existing old information in the premise of contradiction between new information and assumed context. While from another aspect, Contextual relevance is formed by reconnecting contextual effect to old information in another way in term of the depth of violation context. The integration of the relevance and violation reflects language strategy and aesthetic values.This essay carries out a research on the novel Saving the Breast from three aspects including contextual relevance and violation's dialectical thinking, rhetorical strategy as well as aesthetic values. The first chapter mainly discusses dialectical relationship of context surface and depth as well as dialectical philosophy between the maximal relevance and the optimal relevance in the contextual relevance and violation. The second chapter analyzes the production of the contextual relevance and violation in terms of corpus, rhetoric application and context rhetorical strategies. Proceeding from the aesthetic values, the third chapter elicits the hidden life and living aesthetics in the novel. It is expected that the study could excavate the language characteristics of Bi Shumin's novels deeply and reveal the influence of lansigns on the literary works regarding context consideration.
