Recently as the development of educational internationalization,the communication with the abroad in the area of education is becoming more and more frequently.The translation of the common underpinning subjects and core subjects in the bachelor's programme of the department of English in Hong Kong Polytechnic University provide the readers information who want to know the Chinese Hong Kong's educational system as well as the western countries',and also can give some references to the revolution of Chinese mainland's educational system.The main research object is the equivant Chinese translation of English educational terminology.According to Reiss's Text Style,the source texts are contents-focused,with the characteristics of containing a lots of educational terminology,which is the most important part in the source texts.So that the translation accuracy is the key task,for the educational terminology is the significant component of the educational vocabulary.The translation process is under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory,with the translation methods of literal translation,liberal translation,zero translation and comparative translation,from the full title and acronym of the educational terminology to discuss the results of the Translation with those four methods,so that the information in the source text is conveyed accurately,and is functional equivalent.To master the translation methods of educational terminolohy is with great practical significance to improve the expression effect,communicative ability of the educational terminology and to understand and research the western educational system.However,the author find no research papers about the equivant Chinese translation of English educational terminology in the CNKI,so this paper has its practical value and significance on the translation methods of English educational terminology with the examples from the source texts.
