Research On Comparison Analysis Between Northern And Southern China Traditional Furnishing

The furnishing art of traditional private residence,which features both distinctive geographical lives and undivided nationality,is an important part of Chinese cultural heritage.This traditional art is similar and different in Southern and Northern China,which means it is possible to analysis cultural residence traditions on national level and regional level.The residence of Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty were particular in this case.With developing civil economy,private residences were built with high artistic values at those times,made them terrific material cases for our research.This paper takes Huizhou and Jinzhong residences as examples,comparing Northern and Southern China traditional furnishing art from historic background and artistic value perspectives.We focus the comparison on layout,ornament and arrangement levels in hall,bedroom and study,trying to analysis differences and similarities.To dig the charming furnishing art in research,we analysis Huizhou Chengzhi House and JinzhongQiao Mansion vertically and horizontally.After theory foundations were built,we combine them with modern furnishing cases for further exploration.Firstly,this paper makes a deep research on the causes and building structures of traditional private residences in Huizhou and Jinzhong to find out the internal factors.Secondly,this paper compares furnishings of main space of Chengzhi House and Qiao Mansion to analysis similarities and differences between Northern and Southern China.This is main analysis part of the paper.In the final part,this paper try to discuss the analysis conclusions on practical level.On the perspective of modern reference and cultural inheritance,this paper,with interpreting of modern furnishing cases,expresses our thinking on how to inherit and flourish traditional furnishing on modern period setting.The traditional residence is an important part of China cultural heritage,its interior furnishings art has deep cultural connotation and regional characteristics,and traditional residential furnishings in the Chinese culture is harmony but not sameness,unity of tradition,but also has its own unique and distinctive regional cultural characteristics.From merchants in the Ming and Qing Dynasties folk art to reach a climax,and a large number of outstanding buildings has been preserved,decided that they can be used as a typical civil residence and provide valuable materials for the study of North and South traditional residential indoor display art.
