Research On Thompson's Theory Of Ideology

Human ideology is influenced by many factors,such as environment,information,thinking ability and value orientation,and different ideologies have great differences in cognition and understanding of the same things.John B Thompson as a famous British media research experts,sociologists,in the writing of "ideology and modern culture"and "Ideology Theory",in the ideological theory of Marx as the representative of the research,the Marx doctrine model used in his theory of ideology,and to elaborate the theory of ideology,has some innovative.For Thompson's theory of ideology,whether it is for the China ideology construction,or in the study of Marx's theory of ideology,has important role.This paper is divided into four chapters:In the introduction part,through the theoretical and practical significance of ideology in the contemporary mass communication,this paper introduces the research status at home and abroad and the research methods of this paper.The second chapter studies the course of development,the ideology of Thompson's theory on the background of the times,and expounds the origin of Thompson 's theory of ideology,by the Frankfurt school,influence of cultural capital and symbolic power ideology theory of Geertz's cultural theory and Marx,Bourdieu's,the above theory promoted the formation of Thompson 's ideology theory.The third chapter focuses on the definition of the concept of Thompson 's ideology,ideology and mass communication,the operation mode of ideology and the theory of mass communication and social criticism.Thompson's ideology includes the concept of neutrality,the concept of potential and the concept of symbol.In the operation mode of ideology,it is based on the individual,the media and the state.The fourth chapter is the evaluation of Thompson's theory of ideology,the main consideration to the development of Marx's theory of ideology of the state,media and personal practical significance and limitation of the three aspects of the research from the theoretical significance of Thompson 's ideology.
