The Exploration Of The Influencing Mechanism Of Moral Identity On Prosocial Behavior And The Enlightenment To Moral Education

This study investigates the factors that affect prosocial behavior and the influencing mechanism moral identity on prosocial behavior,trying to find out enlightenment to moral education.Study 1 took a 2(temporal distance: a year ago,a week ago)× 2(moral attributes: moral,immoral)between-subjects design to examine the effects of temporal distance and moral attributes of individuals' experience on prosocial behavior.As a self-regulatory mechanism that regulates individuals' moral behavior,moral identity can influence prosocial behavior.Under the effect of moral identity,will the influencing process be different from the process in study 1? Study 2 used a 2(temporal distance: a year ago,a week ago)× 2(moral attributes: moral,immoral)× 2(moral identity: high,low)mixed design to examine the effect temporal distance and moral attributes of subjects' experience on individuals' prosocial behavior under the influence of moral identity.In study 2,moral identity was subdivided into moral identity internalization and moral identity symbolization further according to Aquino and Reed's classification of moral identity.This study draws the following conclusions:(1)temporal distance and moral attributes of individuals' moral experience will affect their future prosocial behavior intention,and show different mechanisms of moral self regulation(2)moral identity internalization has an effect on the prosocial behavior,and adjusts the relationship between temporal distance,moral attribute and social behavior.When moral identity internalization is high,positive feedback mechanism plays an important role,which means individuals tend to keep the consistency of moral behavior.When moral identity internalization is low,negative feedback mechanism plays an important role,which means individuals tend to maintain the volatility of moral behavior.Therefore,we need to pay more attention to moral identity education,especially moral identity internalization,making moral quality increasingly internalized and express in the behavior.At the same time,we need to establish moral examples and make students constantly optimize their moral behavior.
