Look From The Contemporary Aesthetic Taste In Film Adaptation

Taste is an important starting point to analyze the mass culture of consumer society.And in the era of mass culture,the word “individual” has been replaced by the“mass” gradually;mass taste is the center part in analysis taste.To a certain degree mass culture can be interpreted as a kind of aesthetic mass culture,consumption choices has been based on individual taste significantly,individual show their own taste by symbol consumption.The mass taste and mass culture affect each other,influence each other.Mass culture dominant by mass media,influence the public's aesthetic choice,the change of the mass taste promote the transformation of mass culture in turn.In such background,it's in urgent need of re-examine the relationship between them,and through the classic literature “Journey to the west” to do the concrete analysis,pointed out the reasons why it changes,in order to find significance of and countermeasures of the research.This paper is divided into five parts,the part of “Introduction” first to explain the meaning of taste,sorting out the development course and present situation of taste.Based on this situation,to further expound taste problems in representation of the visual culture-film,in the end of this part,explained why chose adaptation films of“Journey to the west” showed in 2000-2016 to analyze the change of taste in this century.The first chapter is “An overview of adaptation film of “Journey to the west”in2000-2016.First of all,to answer what is the relationship between adaptation and original version.Then,make a review on the course of the adaptation film of“Journey to the west” in our country in the 20 th century,then make a specific review on the adaptation film of “Journey to the west” in the 21 st century(2000-2016),finally point out the change of adaptation work and the change of taste between 20 th and 21 st century in two perspectives:One is in the relationship between adaptation and original version,the other is in the evolution of the movie type.The second chapter is“Adaptation of the characters and the change of the taste”,analyze characters' modeling,language,action,traits,character,etc.in adaptation film of “Journey to the west” since the year 2000,and make a contrastive analysis on original images in the novel of “Journey to the west”,classic character in the adaptation film of “Journey to the west” in the 20 th century,to explain the change of taste in this century.The third chapter is “Adaptation of theme,narrative,style and the change of the taste”,analyze theme,narrative,style in the adaptation film of “Journey to the west”to present the change of the taste at the back,and points out the reasons for such changes.The fourth chapter is “Reflection on taste changes”,analyze the influence of the change in taste start from adaption activities' two dimension:films and classic literature.Then pointed out the produced countermeasures of it.In the end of this paper,point out the film adaptation activities should to improve mass taste in realize to inherit classic and to develop the industry of Chinese movie.
