The theory Chengshi of Chinese Drama is a set of conception including Chengshixing,Chengshihua,Chengshi in performance and so on.It contributes a lot to the process of which the scholar of Chinese Drama.Chengshi also matters a lot in guiding the practice of Chinese Drama as it's an important aesthetic standard in the area of stage performance,because it balanced the contradiction between the skill and acting.In nowadays,many scholar have questioned the theory of Chengshi in Chinese Drama during the process in which they gained a deep research of Chinese Drama.They thought the theory of Chengshi is no longer suitable for the situation of today's Chinese Drama and its academic value is also not enough,and it is better to cancel or subtitute the theory of Chengshi.To view this problem,this article plans to trace the way which the theory of Chengshi gained its meaning as an academic conception and its transformation in different situation,and value the theory of Chengshi from different angles.The First chapter contains how the term Chengshi has born and how did it gained its special position in the theory of Chinese Drama,base in this we can value the meaning of Chengshi in the scholar of Chinese Drama;The second chapter contains the process of which the theory of Chengshi has been enriched in its connotation and the change in the view and method in the researching of the theory of Chengshi;The third chapter views the role of the theory of Chengshi played in the area of Chinese Drama practice and the tactic for developing Chinese Drama originate from the theory of Chengshi;the Epilogue contains the meaning of the theory of Chengshi in some other way and values the theory of Chengshi in the construction of the system of Chinese Drama.
