As the most learned scholar in Ming Dynasty,Yang Shen' s explanation of scripture most exists in ShengAn JingShuo.In this book,there' re three volumes about The Book of Songs,which distinguished the phonology,researched the exegesis,recorded the different words,explored the ethics.Though being inevitable to be rough,it can be worthy of praise of broadcom.When talking about XiaoXu,Yang Shen believed it had its own source which cannot be discarded.When talking about Er Ya,he thought they are distinguished by their style,not by their subjects.Yang Shen also held that Pan Gong was not feudatory' s school,Tai Wang hadn' t beated the Shang Dynasty,the story of XuanNiao giving birth to Shang Dynasty was an act of praying for a son in spring equinox in fact.Yang Shen' s selection didn' t take one person' s theory as standard.After analysis,it can be known that though YangShen said he wanted to research the scripture before Zhu Xi,he also payed attention to explanations in Song Dynasty.Though the scholars after him criticized him to be rough,they still quoted his points of view.Removing the flaws,retaining the essence,Yang Shen' s scholarship still deserved to be studied.
