| How can the depth of perception be formed?This paper tries to take Merleau-Ponty’ view to follow this question.Different with traditional philosophy,Merleau-Ponty analyses the depth of perception based on Body and Perception from Phenomenology.In Phenomenology of Perception,he firstly criticized the view of depth of perception of Descartes and Berkeley,although they insist different opinions in details,the opinion of them both based on Subject-Object Dualism Opposites.Merleau-Ponty hold the view that depth of perception is Body image’s deploying in the world,on the opinion of Body and world’s situation relationship.In Spirit and Eye,Merleau-Ponty criticized Artificiatialisme of modern science,it made us break away from perceptual experience of the world.He admitted the way of painter’ vision that remained primary visual experience,and the depth of perception be explained being’ s appearing.In the Visible and Invisible,he proposed "flesh" which means intertwining relationship between subject and the world,and he went even further on the Ontology.Groping for the depth is one of the painting art’s purposes.The history of painting can be comprehended as history how to show the depth.And Merleau-Ponty paid more attention to modern art,this paper tries to adapt Merleau-Ponty’ integration of painting art in Cezanne’s doubt,Indirect Language and the Vioces of Silence,and Spirit and Eye,and combine paintings to analyze the depth from Art philosophy.Merleau-Ponty based on subject and the world’s primary intimate relationship gain a rational explanation for this question about the depth of perception.Embodied cognition philosophy make an explanation of the depth of perception absorbing Merleau-Ponty’s Phenomenology of Perception and combining modern psychology and science’s research,gained a lot of identification.Facing Embodied cognition’s forging ahead with the problem,Alva Noe,representative of modern cognition philosophy,be affected by Merleau-Ponty,absorbed the idea of Phenomenology,proposed the Sensorimotor Theory in Action in Perception.He discussed the vision from the interaction relationship between body and environment,solved Represen tationalism’s difficult in a certain extent,get an explanation according with embodiment cognition.However,his explanation formed under Subject-Object Dualism Opposites.Comparing to Merleau-Ponty,he did not dissect the issue further on the ontology and reveal depth’s mystery as world ’s appearing. |
