Chunhyangjeon is the most outstanding classical literature in the Korea Peninsula, which has been accepted and adapted at home and abroad in the 300 years since the history that had the writing records. The 2nd Shanghai Yue opera troupe adapted Chunhyangjeon for Yue opera in 1954 according to its Korea's Changgeuk libretto. After that, this drama was performed by many Yue Opera troupes and adapted by more than 10 kinds of operas including Chao Opera,Pingju,Huangmeixi,Henan Opera,Guangdong Opera,Gui Opera and so on,which had broad impacts in China,This study takes 1 kind of Korea's Changgeuk Chunhyangjeon librettos,9 kinds of librettos for Chunhyangjeon including Yue Opera,Chao Opera,Huangmeixi,Henan Opera,Beijing Opera,Pingju and 6 kinds of relevant materials as the object of research. This study clarifies the historical context of Chunhyangjeon's formation and development as well as the background of its spreading to China and investigate the impact of Chunhyangjeon in China with the method of bibliography. And in the way of comparative literature making the synchronic comparative analysis on librettos in 1950s based on the materials which have been collected,so as to investigate the mode in which Chinese operas accept the Korea's Changgeuk Chunhyangfeon as well as the changes.First of all, this study sorts out the historical context of Korea's Changgeuk Chunhyangjeon.Chunhyangjeon originated from the oral literature in the Korean peninsula. It had been a complete Pansori drama owing to the arrangement from ShinJae Hyo in the mid and late 18th century. After the civilized period, impacts by the Modern Drama Movement,Beijing Opera from Qing Dynasty,Japanese New Drama and the appearance of the theatres and troupes, the Pansori's performance mode, monopolylogue, had received a cold reception gradually while Changgeuk was more and more popular. Therefore,Chunhyangjeon's performance mode was almost fixed in the way of Changgeuk in the first half of 20th century.Secondly,it explores the background of Chinese operas Chunhyangjeon. The chance of spreading to China for Chunhyangjeon owed to the Korean War.The agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between China and Korea was the direct cause of pushing the appearance of Chinese operas Chunhyangjeon. After the building of New China,by the impact of'Letting a hundred flowers bloom and getting rid of the stale and bringing forth the fresh' and '5·5 Instruction',the revolution of operas was in full swing, which provided a good condition for Chunhyangj eon's spreading in China. Finally, this study analyzes the acceptance of Korea's Changgeuk Chunhyangjeon in Chinese Drama. In the 1950s,the performance of Chunhyangjeon was in fashion all over the country. The topics and contents were very similar between Changgeuk Chunhyangjeon and Chinese Drama Chunhyangjeon. But as a result of the culture and language difference between China and Korea, the understanding biases and literary quality of the adaptors,as well as the influence by social reality and political background, the differences had also come into being in adapts. There are some differences between them. For example, the elements of humor and the characters of minor parts in the original were weakened. The strength of the people was emphasized in Chinese Drama. There had been some evolution inside the Chunhyangjeon of Yue Opera,Chao Opera and HuangMeiXi as time went on.These evolution presents the following features. The libretto's language were more and more easy to understand while the expression with Korean cultural features had been sanitized.Meanwhile, the topic wants to highlight the love story between scholar and beauty,so a lot of contents which were irrelevant to love were cut off.The characters of minor parts were more weakened than the adapt for the first time.I may say that today's Chunhyangjeon has drifted from the original and has been totally sanitized. There are long history of cultural exchanges between China and Korea, this cultural exchanges are not one-way,but two-way.Korea's famous literature Chunhyangjeon was influenced by Chinese culture in the process of formation, but it also influenced Chinese Drama and gradually became Chinese repertory. The development of Chunhyangjeon is just the typical example about this two-way cultural exchanges and this is also the significance of this study.
