In This paper, using the bows and arrows unearthed from Chu Tombs of the Warring States,we studied the arches of this period, the weapons configuration, the number of arrows equipped in the army and other related questions. In the use of archaeological materials,we collected a large number of relevant literature and unearthed bamboo slips at the same time for the research.Besides these, some experimental results are important materials for this study. The first chapter is the introductory part, the significance of this thesis and the research object are expounded.Secondly, the temporal and spatial scope of the object of this paper is described. Then we reviewed the history of research on bows and arrows of this period, including the the textual research of the bows, the typological studies of the arrowheads, the craftsmanship of the bows and arrows, the physical and military research on the object. From these studies,we know that the bows and arrows' shape are less mentioned. So we want to explore it and study the the relationship between bows and arrows and grave class. Then we explain the research ideas and methods of the paper,in the end the names of the relevant parts of the bows and arrows are illustrated. The second chapter is the main part of the paper, through the analysis of the large number of archaeological data from Chu tombs,we know the basic shape of the bows and arrows during this period.Firstly,we do a typology study of the unearthed the bows and arrows, divided into two parts to illustrate.Through the comprehensive collection of the archaeological data,we divided the unearthed bows into two types, namely the monomer bow and composite bow,and divided the composite bow into ordinary bow and reverse bow according to the shape of it.Then we studied the levels of the tombs unearthed bows through the scale, horse devices and other burial objects. We found that the levels of the tombs were linked closely with the number of the bows. The more bows has,the higher the grave class is.In the third chapter,we studied the problem of the arrowheads' types.According to the way of connecting shafts with heads,we divided it into two types, and under the two categories,we subdivided it into five parts, namely the long collars three prism-shaped arrowheads, short collars double-winged arrowheads, short collars three prism-shaped arrowheads,a trumpet double-winged arrowheads and a trumpet three-shaped arrowheads.Different types of arrowheads were popular in different time periods,so as to have a detailed understanding of the arrowheads in the Chu Tombs during the Warring States Period. The fourth chapter discussed the related issues of the bows and arrows.Firstly,we studied the combination of weapons and sorted out different levels of tombs information. We found that there were some connections between tomb's levels and the combination of weapons. At the same time, whether the chariots or infantries, they all equipped the bows, reflecting the importance of this long-range weapons on the battlefield. Then we studied the single arches equipment through the combination of the historical literature and the underground materials in the Warring States period. We found that the number of arrows have several circumstances,of which a 50 arrows is the major situation.50 may be a standard configuration. But this is not absolutely, most of the lower level of ordinary soldiers equipped with less number of the arrows. However, the number of unearthed arrows is still huge, which reflects the needs of the arrows in that period with frequent wars. The bows and arrows are important in the Warring States period. In the end,we summed up the previous chapters, learned that this long-range weapon played a great role in the Warring States. This is of great significance for studying the military history of the Warring States and the changes of weapons'configuration.
