Translation Practice Report On Anti-Japanese And The History And Reconciliation Of Japan And South Korea

This article is a Japanese-Chinese translation practice report.The translation practice objects for an academic paper written by Kim Bong-jin named Anti-Japanese and the History and Reconciliation between Japan and South Korea.This paper is from the third part of the book named History and Reconciliation.The book is a collection of academic papers about history and reconciliation of the whole world and the translation object focuses on the issues between Japan and South Korea.It's structure is very clear and it expounds five questions in turn including What is Anti-Japanese,How to treat Anti-Japanese,What is reconciliation,Why reconciliation is necessary,and How to settle the problem of reconciliation.The objective text is an academic paper inside the range of history and human sociology.From the content point of view,this paper covers a very abstract problem and offers some uncommon thoughts.Because of the viewpoint and the abstract content of this paper,the author has difficulty in understanding the paper objectively and translating it correctly in some way.From the language expression point of view,this paper covers a lot of professional terms,which made it very confusing and hard to understand.So the translation of professional terms is another challenge to the translator.In addition,a significant feature of the paper is the frequent use of Japanese-Chinese isomorphous words.In the process of the concrete translation,the translator has to carefully consult the dictionary and select the best suitable meaning for the word with the strong interrupting of the meaning in Chinese.The translator has to pay more attention to choosing the more accurate words in Chinese to match the Japanese-Chinese isomorphous words.In order to make the translation practice more easier and finally get comparing satisfactory translation results,it is necessary to master certain translation theory in advance.Translation is a kind of verbal communication behavior,it is a kind of interpretive use of language.It not only involves the code,but also has much thing to do with dynamic reasoning according to the dynamic context.The dynamic reasoning is based on relevance.Therefore,the translation practice takes the main reference from the relevance translation theory,specifically E Gutt and Chinese scholars' research views of relevance theory such as Yanchun Zhao and Jianguo Wang.The main views include the original communicative behavior loyalty,the principle of optimal relevance,reasoning space equidistance,dynamic reasoning,reasoning clue reproduction,etc.This report aims to discuss the translation strategies of such text based on the description of relevance translation theory and the analysis of specific problems the author met during the translating.For example,when it is difficult to find the corresponding translation in Chinese to the professional vocabulary,it may be a good idea to borrow the Japanese vocabulary which looks the same with Chinese.Though this method,it is able to ensure the exist of the reasoning clue to help readers quickly understand what the paper wants to say.Finally,with a detailed analysis and the summary of the translation practice,the author hopes to provide some reference for similar text translation.
