Recently,there are many films that are adapted from popular IP resources,they set off the IP boom of Chinese film industry.IP films are successful in the market because they promote film concepts,market ideas,and audience expectations are converging.At the same time,it caused a series of problems,such as blind pursuit of IP,films are overplayed,the quality of films is mixed,the box office is far from the appraisal.The problem of IP films has caught the attention of the industry and the academia,the reasons behind it are more worthy of discussion.Consumer culture provides free cultural environment for domestic IP films,at the same time,the rapid development of IP films has contributed to the development of consumer culture.Each part of IP films production reflects the symbiosis between IP and consumer culture.Domestic IP films to satisfy the audiences different consumption psychology with symbolic characteristics,entertainment characteristics,group identities' characteristics and popular characteristics.The symbolization of IP films is reflected in the consumption based on text influence,the consumption about the stars of the audience,the consumption about emotions of IP.The style,narrative structure,audio-visual elements of IP films reflect the leisure characteristics.It's popular elements and fan culture show symbolic characteristics.Diversified themes,civilians of the film style and the superficial of meaning show the popular characteristics of domestic IP films.The consumer culture of domestic IP films is driven by producers and consumers.The producer aims at promote consumption,they constrain consumers through consumer culture;As to consumers,they resisted the power of consumer culture in positive ways.Domestic IP films have many advantages,such as audience feedback,interaction with the audience,and extended IP value.It meanwhile presents the disadvantages of weakening the cultural value and weakening the aesthetic function of the film.Finally,the author reflect on four aspects: high-quality consciousness,innovation consciousness,brand consciousness and cultural consciousness.The author proposes that only by improving the quality of IP films,enriching the culture and commercial value of the films can IP films develop better.
