Analysis On Axel Honneth's Democratic Ethics

Axel Honneth(1949-)is a well-known contemporary German philosopher and social theorist,a director of the institute for social research of Frankfurt university,he is also essential to the third generation of Frankfurt School and the key figure of development of the third period of critical theory.The domestic researches mainly involves his “acknowledged theory” and conception of “plural justice”currently.But recently,with his attention gradually from the “acknowledged theory” to democracy,liberty,ethics,justice,value,morality and so on in the social political domain,the researches about Honneth's critical theory in our country has acquired constant development and innovation.we can perceive Honneth's both question field and research domain happened it's own expanding continually,through early reconstruction of the“acknowledged theory” with the theme of “contempt and resistance” of the ethical field of interpersonal relationship,interpretation and discussion of conception of “plural justice” on the basis of the unitary morality.The formation of his “democratic ethics”,is a kind of normalization reconstruction of analysis principle on the basis of mutual“acknowledge ”and respect in main body of the society.In this process,Honneth finally exhibit us a method of analysis justice about the construction of liberal society and the idea about important function of democratic ethics in the process of achieving the society liberty,Honneth detailedly analysed and investigated the society liberty and justice including the morality field.It signs that Honneth's democratic ethics finally completed the “political ethics turning” of critical theory of Frankfurt school,it not only indicates the mutual relationship between Honneth's “acknowledged theory” and conception of“plural justice” and contemporary political philosophy,but also revealed the current developing trend of the Frankfurt School.Researching about Honneth's democratic ethics,on the one hand,it can help us understand and study the mutual harmonious communication developing trend of contemporary western ethics culture and social political practice.On the other hand,it has also enlightened our country's ethic culturalconstruction and the social political development,especially to the construction of a harmonious society.
