The battle of Pyongyang is a war in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894,which is an important node in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894.This paper mainly through the background of the outbreak of the battle of Pyongyang and the war through two aspects to explore the reasons for the failure of the Qing government and the impact.At the beginning of the war,the Qing did not appoint a qualified commander.And then the Qing government in the absence of in-depth investigation of the case under the light of Ye Zhichao,and appointed as a commander.As Li Xinzhang's cronies,Ye Zhichao pursue its negative defense thinking,do not take the initiative,which provides an opportunity for the Japanese attack.At first,the purpose of the Qing dynasty was to aid North Korea and settle the civil strife.Therefore,it was welcomed by the people,but the loose army of the Qing army had disgusted the Notrth Korea people.In addition,the Qing army also ignored the intelligence gathering,whether pre-war or war,are the lack of understanding of the enemy.In the final analysis,the failure of the Qing army is caused by the corruption of the Qing government.ln contrast,the Japanese in the war before the development of a detailed operational plan,collected a lot of intelligence,the establishment of a sound system of soldiers station,reflecting the Japanese military system of scientific and perfect,and therefore made the victory of the battle.The battle of Pyongyang has brought far-reaching influence to the three countries.The failure of the Qing army,so that the Qing Dynasty has been a huge blow,but also accelerated the already precarious North Korea clan relationship.And then Japan's Qing Dynasty began to change,to conquer the Qing's determination is more determined,making the war of war extended to the Qing Dynasty.After the Battle of Pyongyang,the forces of the Qing Dynasty withdrew from the DPRK,and Japan stepped up its overall control of the DPRK.In the process,the same interests in the DPRK and Russia were tended to intensify the turmoil and uneasiness in the DPRK.Then Japan fully controlled the DPRK,so that North Korea began to colonies into the abyss.
