Arousal-biased competition(ABC)theory(Mather& Sutherland,2011)hypothesizes that emotional arousal modulates the selectivity of attention by increasing the effects of bottom-up attention biases.When many neutral stimuli present in the view for the same time,the emotion will produce selective effects these stimuli based-on their perceptual salience,emotion can significantly enhanced attention of salient stimuli and inhibit attention of non-salient stimuli,namely emotion amplify attentional bias for salient stimuli.Although the prediction of arousal biased competition theory has been proved by some research,there are still some deficiencies.First,previous studies have only examined the effects of negative emotions,and whether positive emotions have the same phenomenon has not been confirmed.Secondly,previous studies have only explored the impact of supraliminal priming emotion on the ABC effect,they did not refer to subliminal priming emotion emotion.Aiming at the deficiencies of previous research,this study designed two experiments.In Experimen 1,the emotion was induced by supraliminal priming method,and this experiment tested the effects of three supraliminal priming emotion on attentional bias for salient stimuli.In Experiment 2,the emotion was induced by subliminal priming priming method,and this experiment tested the effects of three subliminal primingemotion on attentional bias for salient stimuli.The conclusions of this study were as follows:(1)individuals had attentional bias toward the perceptual salient stimuli.(2)Supraliminal priming emotion amplified attentional bias for salient stimuli,They can significantly enhanced attention of salient stimuli and inhibit attention of non-salient stimuli.Supraliminal priming negative emotion and supraliminal priming positive emotion had similar effect.(2)subliminal priming emotion amplified attentional bias for salient stimuli,they can significantly enhanced attention of salient stimuli and inhibit attention of non-salient stimuli.Subliminal priming negative emotion and subliminal priming positive emotion had similar effect.The results showed that whether subliminal or subliminal priming emotion both can amplified attentional bias for salient stimuli.
