"Hezhouflower song",also called Shao nian,is a kind of "flower song".In ancient time,it was regarded as love song,sung in the mountains and the wild and sometimes sung as people walked,so it was actually one type of folk songs.Then it was used to describe the beauty,hence got the name of "flower song".And gradually,it was called as "Hezhou flower song" that has followed so far,because it originated in Hezhou areas of Gansu province and was sung in distinct dialect.No matter farmers laboring in fields,porters who were getting on the road and herdsmengrazing ontheircattle and horses,all the people preferred to freely express their inner joys and sorrows by singing the song in local dialect,which showed the uplifting gospel tune and unique cavity.With characteristics of ancient poetry,its lyrics still use a very colloquial kind of term.In addition,the strong linguistic traits lead to a harder voice.The key to articulate and enunciate in the process of singing is the close cooperation of tongue,teeth,throat and mouth.Of course,supporting by a powerful breath,a beautiful "mountain love song" will be sung.Studying on "flowersong" of Hezhou in Gansu province,which spreads until now,the author carried out systematical research into the aspects as the origin,distribution,linguistic feature,singing features and inheritance of "Hezhou flower song" with the methods of a-long-time studying,consulting and visiting.
