A Study About The Ethnographic Film Of Longc Ngeec Dong Tribe In The Sight Of Visual Anthropology

Visual Anthropology is a branch of Anthropology,which includes a lot of knowledge from many other subjects and has a prosperous development since it was produced.As an important means from study to practice,Visual Anthropology is often used to do research and record what researchers find about the changes and intention of human being’s culture,depending on a visual image,such as photos,pictures and videos.Researchers of Visual Anthropology are exploring the relationship between the filmmakers and what they film,which produces the concept of Shared Anthropology,finally known as Community Video and translated into Country Film or Villager Film in Chinese.Different from ethnographic film which is always filmed by some unrelated people,the country film of Longc ngeec Dong Tribe,which is located in Guizhou Province,is shot by the villagers there.These a serious of country films are to produced to record their own tribe and also are an inheritance about the history and culture.People can know some details of life in Longc ngeec Dong Tribe,know how they maintain the relationships among family,know the importance of Dong river song to their nation,and we even can find how they think about homesick,which is a common issue of human being.The first chapter of this essay is mainly to introduce the creators and how they filmed,and analyze the reason why they shot the film through their living environment,team members and life experience.Focused on the ethnographic film itself,the second chapter decode the anthropology information by putting forward a question--what kind of cultural information does the four films contain.If the country film can deal with the contradictory issues exists in the long Visual Anthropology history will be discussed in the third chapter based on four theoretical aspects--authenticity,shooting vision,historical and artistic value and film ethics.In the last chapter,the author will confirm the value of the Longc ngeec film,which has an immensely influence to the local nations and also plays an significant role in the ethnographic.
