As a physical expression of folk art,in Northeastern Sichuan Qing-era tombstones auspicious patterns' meanings,craftsmanship,characters,etc,not only reflect that people's aesthetic taste and values,but also manifest ethics,custom and so on.The auspicious patterns' classifications,craftsmanship,skills of expression,and characters are the cores of this paper,as well as,it is aim to analysis more comprehensively and detailedly the auspicious patterns from the art theory perspective,so that it can present the artistic and cultural value.The paper consists of three sections.The first section is introduction,which explains study causes and main conceptions,discusses research status about Chinese tombstones,auspicious patterns,as well as researches tracks and approaches.The second part is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is the auspicious patterns' classifications,which is divided into four categories: Longevity and Multiplication,Fame and Fortune,Exorcism,Blessing and Lucky.The second chapter analyses the craftsmanship and skills of expression.The third chapter explains its style characters.It mainly talks about artistic styles and aesthetic features.Artistic styles consists of realistic style and decorative style,while aesthetic features includes truth,beauty,goodness,and harmony.The third part is a conclusion,covers the first to the forth chapter,mainly discusses the auspicious patterns' value,and puts forward protection opinion.
