| "Arrowing Festival" is a ritual activity of worshiping the God of mountains and God of War which is popular in the Amdo Tibetan area,developed from Tibetan folk ancient rituals.Generally speaking,"Arrowing Festival" is giving homemade arrows to Arrow-platform which is selected by Ningma Master in a specific day to pray for health and longevity,rich life,animal husbrandry and prosperity.The "Arrowing"tradition is considered to be derived from the early Tibetan people's fear of nature and all beliefs for all spiritual things.After the development of Bon religion and Tibetan Buddhism,which becomes mountain God worship in some Tibetan areas.This article takes the Arrowing Festival as a research object in Gongma village's,Labrang County,Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,Gansu province(on 17th June in the "Anila Riga" mountain in lunar calendar),starting from the angle of folklore,with a scientific attitude,the author makes a detailed description and research about the origin of Arrowing Festival,the process of the activities,the reason of cultivation the concept of worshiping the god of mountains,"Arrow" worship,the socail function and traditional changes.The author was born and lived in the village of Taja Gomma,he began to participate in the "Arrowing Festival" on 17th June in the lunar calendar since he was 13,at a distance of two kilometers from the village.Since the author is very familiar of the ritual ceremonies' process,and the author's major is folklore,and Folklore is a science that studies folk customs and habits.Through a year's study,the author has a certain understanding on the basic theory of folklore and Research methods,in accordance with these subjective and objective conditions,the author can make a detailed description and research from the perspective of folklore science on the "Arrowing Festival" in village of Taja Gomma. |
