The Study Of The Spatial Structure Of Qian Xuan's Landscape Paintings

Qian Xuan was the featured representaive of the artists who experienced the transformation from the end of Song Dynasty to the early of Yuan Dynasty.As a presented scholar,he witnessed the transfer of thrones and the end of Song royalty.As a result,he decided to burn down all his books and commited to the creation of paintings.His paintings were valued highly by Zhao Mengfu,who had a rather acute sense of the ancient style.Later two of them both advocated for the literati paintings.Qian Xuan's works stood out for its simple,elegant outlook and pure,clear style.The composition of his painting was a perfect demostration of "the ancient sense",which was regarded as the foundation for his idealized,unique flavor.This paper analyzes the spatial sturcture of the landscape paintings by Qian Xuan:Clarify the main purpose of the study as well as the origin by reviewing the current related studies in China and abroad;Offer the retrospective of Qian Xuan's artistic exprerience;Testify the authenticity of the landscape paintings under Qian's name;Demostrate the spatial expression in the conposition of his paintings and analyze his "ancient" and "hermit" style from multiple persepctives;Summarize the features in the composition of his works;And,last but not the least,conclude the enlightenment of this study upon comtemporary landscape painting creation.
