A Report On Consecutive Interpreting Practice Of Sino-Africa Agricultural Cooperation Seminar

This is a report based on the interpreting practice of Sino-Africa Agricultural Cooperation Seminar jointly designed and sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Hainan University.The participants come from 26 countries and regions,including agricultural technicians and administrative officials.The way of practice is consecutive interpreting.The report elaborates and interprets the task in the following aspects:task description,pre-task preparation,interpreting process and summary of the interpreting practice.Meanwhile,under the guidance of information processing theory,the report studied the problems occurred in the interpreting process and put forward corresponding solutions.Taking into consideration all the problems,the interpreter summarized three aspects:that is,lexicon,syntax and paragraph.Hence,the report summed up three effective strategies:careful selection of proper words,reconstruction of logical relationship for sentences and key-point extraction for paragraphs.The research also finds that a qualified interpreter is supposed to have the awareness of lifelong learning,continuously make self-improvement at professional level and enhance integrative quality so that the interpreter can do better in the work of interpreting.
