Theatre operation & management is a huge subject involved several disciplines.Guangxi possesses splendid and diversified culture created by 12 nationalities which has nourished local creators as art resources producing numerous well-known works of stagecraft.With the change of time and progress of science and technology,Guangxi City Theater,the display space for performing artistic works,has been confronted with problems in management.Setting Guangxi City Theatre as the object of research,the author tries to propose operating and managing strategies in accordance to indigenous audience's demand,which is based on the current situations and studies on both mature managements from overseas' theatres and creative highlights from other domestic regions.The Introduction part summarizes relevant polices from excellent domestic and foreign theatres while illustrates specific characteristics of those in Guangxi.Chapter One shows the case study on three city theatres.The author forms a basic understanding of the status and provides analysis on merits and defects by conducting filed research and interview.Chapter Two clarifies the current market situation of Guangxi performing arts and concludes causes of existed problems via questionnaire.On the ground of arguments from previous chapters,Chapter three makes an effort to offer proper strategies of operation and management,from macroscopic and microscopic aspects,which conforms to the development of Guangxi.This paper hopes to provide new thoughts for the study on China's cultural system reform and theoretical basis for the performing arts organizations' position,being the reference of homogeneous theatres.
