The Research On Song Lian's Calligraphy

Song Lian is an important scholar of Yuan Ming Dynasty,who had an broad and far-reaching impact in literature,history,thought,politics and many other fields.The current academic research on various aspects of Song Lian has more in-depth,but relatively speaking,the research of his calligraphy is still weak.This is not commensurate with his status in calligraphy circle of the early Ming Dynasty and the late Yuan Dynasty.This paper aims to explore his calligraphy works by the extensive collection,excavation of Song Lian calligraphy and calligraphy discourse,analysis the method and style of his calligraphy,explains his calligraphy thoughts,and finally summarizes his achievements in calligraphy.First of all,this article according to the early Ming Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty ‘s social conditions,through examining his life,teacher and friend,we believe Song Lian's calligraphy style and thoughts show an acceptance and continuance of Yuan Dynasty ‘s restore ancient ways in calligraphy.Secondly,for some possible problem calligraphy works,paper combines relevant literature and testes the involved person,events and things,further sets its writing time,and distinguish his some works by calligraphy style,content and writing years.Third,this paper reviews the extant reliable calligraphy works of Song Lian,raises doubts about the viewpoint of Song Lian's calligraphy style between Zhao Mengfu and Kang Li Zishan.We think Song Lian's regular script tends to Zhao Mengfu and Wang Xizhi,his running script more leraned from Kang Li Zishan and Mifu.The last,paper explains the Song Lian's calligraphy thoughts,we think his calligraphy thoughts is consonant with his Neo Confucianism.Because of the Influence from New-Confucianism,Song Lian had inherited Zhu Xi's calligraphy thoughts.At the same time,Song Lian's thoughts had a change from “interaction between Confucianism and Taoism” to “Confucianism as the main”,which also reflected in his calligraphy thoughts.Moreover,as above-mentioned,the paper also decipher all previous dynasties' s comment about Song Lian's calligraphy comment.
