A Multi-perspective Study Of Idioms Containing Negative Adverbs

Idioms study has become a popular field of modern Chinese grammar research.as a whole,scholars had done a lot of idioms researches in the past.This paper will narrow the research scope,only study idioms which contains 6 negative adverb phrases,ie“Wei”“Mo”“Wu”“Wu”“Fei”and the middle position with “no”,Containing negative adverb idioms are from Chinese Idioms Dictionary(New Version)and Tracing the Source of Chinese Idioms Dictionary.On the aspect of grammar,this paper examines the function of the target idiom as a syntactic structure,makes a more detailed division of the semantic categories of various structural types of idioms,and analyzes the characteristics of idioms of various structural types,which make the research of idioms more in-depth and refined.This paper uses the methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis to analyze idioms containing negative adverbs from the angles of syntax,semantics and pragmatics.The classification of grammatical structure of target idioms reveals the internal level of idioms,which can make idioms research deeper and more refined.As to the semantic aspect,previous studies mostly focus on the meaning evolution of idioms.In this paper,We try to introduce some relatively new points of view to discuss the semantic,which are the angles of the negative scope and semantic presupposition.In pragmatic aspect,this paper includes the investigation of idioms uses and the specification of idioms.The lack of standard consciousness,adequate linguistic literacy,innovation thinking and the excessive dependence on electronic products are the main reasons of the misuses of idioms containing negative adverbs.On the basis of the two idioms dictionaries and the alien idioms(or the main entry and the entry)mentioned in the beginning of the discussion,this paper picks out the contradiction between the two dictionaries and the two dictionaries,the different purpose of the compilation is the main reason of the contradiction.Then,based on the previous research results,the author gives the definition of alien idioms,analyzes the types and causes of alien idioms,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures on how to regulate all kinds of idioms.The research will have a far-reaching influence in language idioms specification,idioms teaching and dictionary making.
