Translation Practice Report On Financial News From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

The successful organization of Summer Davos Economic Forum,International Economic Roundtable and the G20 Summit represents a new stage of C hinese economy.Financial news reports,as an important approach to understand the world economy and analyze the macroeconomic trends,plays a significant role in providing references and bases for the formulation and modification of national economic policies.Consequently,the translation of financial news has become an indispensable way for China to understand the world.The author had the privilege to join in the business information channel of huanqiu.com,and trans-edited more than 50 pieces of English financial news.From the point view of Eco-translatology,this paper studies some translations of English financial news under the principle of “Translators' Adaptive Selection”,and analyzes some specific translated versions of financial news from three dimensions: linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension.By offering some tentative C hinese versions of the words and sencences in the financial news,this practice report proves that Eco-translatology has a direction for the translation of the English financial news.This trans-editing practice report has four parts: the first,description of the translation task.This part consists of the task background,the characteristics of financial news text and the requirements of the client.The second,description of the translation process,including selection of tasks,translation process and revision process.The third,specific case analysis.The author studies the strategies and skills of financial news translation under the guidance of Eco-translatology.The fourth,summary of the translation practice.The author summarizes the attainments and experience of the translation practice of financial news,in order to provide reference for future translation study.
