A Report On The E-C Translation Of Economic News In The Business Column In Los Angeles Times

English economic news,a way for exchange of the world's economic information,has not only its own linguistic characteristics,but also professional features of economic knowledge.The E-C translation of economic news plays important roles in many aspects such as helping Chinese readers know international economic development trend,thus it also has great research values.With some news discourses in business column on official website of Los Angeles Times as translation practice materials,this thesis detailedly records the whole translation process from pre-translation to post-translation,and it discusses the E-C translation of economic news from the perspective of Eco-translatology theory.Based on the guidance of this theory,the thesis conducts a research by putting economic news into transnational eco-environment covers various elements such as society,culture,translator,reader and etc.Meanwhile,by listing some specific translation examples,this thisis analyses that the author gives scope to initiativeness during the E-C translation process of economic news.And in accordance with the principle of “the multi-dimensional adaptation and adaptive selection”,the author chooses appropriate translation methods and normative language expressions to transform meanings and styles of the original texts flexibly in “three dimensions”:linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions,so as to adapt to eco-environment of economic news and achieve the purpose of accurate and effective spread of news information.The research shows the guiding significance of eco-translatology in the E-C translation of economic news.During the process of the E-C translation of economic news,translators should adaptively select and transform the original texts in linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions,in order to achieve the best effects for information exchange of the translations.
