A Report On The Chinese Translation Of Adventure Tourism: Meanings,experience And Learning(Chapter Two)

This report is based on the writer's translation of the second part of Adventure Tourism: Meanings,experience and learning,which investigates the problems in the translation and proposes relevant solutions.With the progress of era and the development of society,people increasingly enhance their pursuit of spiritual enjoyment and begin to search for a fresh experience and stimulation.In addition,with its novelty,irritating and strong participation,adventure tourism has been favored by tourists.However,the development of adventure tourism has not yet mature at present;people still cannot get a whole understanding of the adventure tourism.The significance for the translation of this kind of text is that it helps the Chinese tourists to promote understanding of adventure tourism and provides a valuable reference for its practical use.The report includes four parts-task description,translation procedure,case analysis and conclusion.Task description part presents the background and the features of the task.Translation procedure description part is an introduction to the specific procedure of the translation.In case analysis,this part summarizes the problems in the translation such as the translation of proper nouns in this text,the understanding of the words,the logical relation of long sentences,and the smoothness of the translated version.Accordingly,solutions are made on the problems concerning with functional equivalence theory of Eugene Nida.The conclusion part summarizes the unsolved problems in the translation and the writer's expectation of further learning and translating.Hopefully this report may provide helpful reference for relative translation works.
