A Study On Modern Paper-carving Art

Papermaking is one of the four great inventions in China which spreads throughout the world,and it promotes the development of regional culture.Paper art gets rapid development in the western countries.However,this skill is facing the dilemma of losing in the origin of China.For the current art successor,it is necessary to inherit the culture and art of ancestors and make it rekindle vitality in our lives.Modern paper carving is inherited from the traditional paper culture.Furthermore,it is a kind of emerging artistic expression combined with contemporary art creation.In recent years,the official in China is also involved in the protection,meanwhile,it promotes the development of paper art into a creative industry.This paper mainly focuses on the following aspects of modern paper carving creative design issue: the development and material characteristics of paper-carving,the artistic form and application of two-dimensional paper-carving,the formation and inheritance of three-dimensional,creative ideas of paper-carving artistic language,the design content and techniques of paper-carving,and the design summary of paper-carving.The empirical research way is used in this paper so as to study the two parallel branches of paper-carving,that is,flat paper-cut engraving and three-dimensional paper-carving.Besides,we analyze the relationship between the shape and form which are the conception of paper-carving in three-dimensional structure,and figure out the method of the style of three-dimensional paper-carving and the covered content of paper-carving using document analysis method.At present,the development of paper-carving art is still subject to many aspects of the limitations.For example,the commercial value of paper-carving is not recognized,and paper-carving art is limited by the materials.There is also the contrast between modern craft and the traditional folk customs.Through the research of paper-carving history,techniques and the expression form,it is rational to believe that the paper-carving art is applied extensively in our lives.Meanwhile,We will complete the original paper-carving art works.
