A Report On Translation Of Technical Reference Manuals Of Semiconductor Devices

English versions of technical reference manuals of domestic semiconductor products are usually not available,which are not conducive to China's foreign trade development.In order to expand the foreign trade market,it is particularly important to translate technical reference manuals of semiconductor products.ESP32 Technical Reference Manual is a technical reference manual of semiconductors.The translation of this manual belongs to science and technology translation that requires translators to apply translation techniques and strategies both flexibly and properly.Its translation must be accurate and clear.Otherwise,users will be mislead and its function cannot be achieved.This thesis mainly discusses translation strategies of the technical reference manual of semiconductor products from the perspective of translation practice.The thesis first describes particular features of the technical reference manual of semiconductor products at the levels of words,sentences and discourse,such as textual terminology,sentences without subjects,involved sentences,and the writing structure of each unit.Then many sentences from ESP32 technical reference manual are analysed to show or prove the feasibility of domestication and foreignification strategies applied to the translation of technical reference manuals of semiconductor products.The thesis stresses that domestication and foreignization strategies can be used in a integrated way in order to ensure the quality of translation.This thesis is intended to enlighten translators of technical reference manuals so as to help improve their translation quality.
